We're Engaged! (photos)

Ross and I got engaged over July 4th weekend while camping at Piney Lake in Vail, Colorado with my nephews, Lucas and Ethan, and my sister Chen-Chen.

We had a wonderful time despite the weather. Who would have thought it would get below freezing and frost over the 4th of July. We certainty were not as prepared as we could have been but we survived the rainy, cold evening. The next day was a typical summer Colorado day, breezy, sunny and beautiful. Despite the lack of a good nights sleep we were all in good spirits as we ate breakfast by Piney Lake while looking for Moose and wildlife.

Ross had decided he was going to propose today, totally unbeknownst to me. He thought it would be fun to propose while we were fishing with Lucas and Ethan, but when we couldn't get the fishing reels to work (Ross is not that much of a fisher) that didn't work out. Then he decided he was going to propose to me when we went on a hike to the waterfalls, but then Lucas and Ethan didn't want to go for a hike. Then as we were getting ready to leave Piney Creek, Ross, Lucas, Ethan and I all stood on the beautiful deck overlooking majestic Piney Creek. Ross knew this was it.

As we all stood there, Ross pointed and exclaimed, "What is that over?" We turned expectantly looking for a moose or something interesting, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then I heard Lucas and Ethan giggling and I turned around to find Ross on one knee, asking "Will you marry me?" Of course I said, "Yes." Then Lucas and Ethan put in their two cents, saying that neither one of them wanted to wear a tux (they were having flashbacks from Pauline and Ben's wedding).

We hope that you will save August 20th, 2011 and join us as we tie the knot!
